There was no grand prize-winning $785 million jackpot winner on Tuesday, Jan. 3, but one winning seven-figure “Mega Millions” ticket was sold in both Maryland and Virginia by matching the first five numbers.

The winning numbers for Tuesday’s drawing were 25-29-33-41-44 with a "Mega Ball" number of 18 with an optional "Megaplier" of 04.

A third winning $1 million ticket was also sold in Texas as the “Mega Millions" jackpot swells to approximately $940 million for the next drawing on Friday, Jan. 6, the fourth-largest in game history and sixth-largest in US lottery history.

Three others won a cool $4 million by matching five numbers and playing the "Megaplier."

In Maryland, the winning ticket was sold in Harford County at High’s on Norrisville Road in White Hall. The store will receive a $2,500 bonus for selling the ticket.

It was the first $1 million winning “Mega Millions” ticket sold in 2023. There were four in 2022, three in 2021, and a total of eight between 2017 and 2020.

In Virginia, the winning ticket was purchased by a lucky lotto player at The Clearbrook Mini Mart on Franklin Road in Roanoke County, which will get a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery.

Nationally, 2,904,737 tickets were winners in the Jan. 3 drawing, with 64,809 of those tickets sold in Maryland. The 7,928 Marylanders who paid the extra $1 to add Megaplier to the $2 ticket for the drawing saw their prizes quadruple.
